Ruth moved to Yeovil about two years ago and currently works part time as a caretaker for Yeovil Baptist Church. Whereas she might not have any formal teaching or ceramics qualifications, she holds a huge amount of experience, through many years of evening classes.
Ruth started at Guggleton as a student of our previous tutor, David Burns, and early on showed her ability to teach and help others. So, as is our mission at the Gugg, we invited her to step into David’s shoes when he relocated to the Lake District, our own home grown talent!
She has a great attitude towards practice based learning, is relaxed, approachable, highly organised, and is able to teach the basics of hand building and throwing techniques to adults wishing to have a go! She has extensive interests in other crafts, nature and animals.
